Pre-Nuptial Agreements

Although pre-nuptial agreements are not legally binding in this country, recent case law highlights judges are showing a greater willingness to take them into account.
Pre-nuptial agreements can be very useful in helping to avoid lengthy and costly litigation should the marriage come to an end. That is of course provided they are correctly drawn up and follow certain requirements. For such agreements to carry any weight it is important each party takes independent legal advice and the agreement is entered into well in advance of the wedding ceremony.
